THAT GUY WEARING THE "S" RETURNS...

Today marks the opening of 'Superman Returns' in theaters everywhere. I have to admit, as I grow older, my interest in big summer blockbusters has waned, but there are some exceptions and, naturally, most of those are the comics-based films. Since it first started shooting i really didn't think i was gonna like this film but most of what i've seen so far looks
pretty damn good (though i STILL don't like the new costume!). The reviews that are coming in are really encouraging so i think i'll be seeing this movie with more anticipation than i expected.

'Course, it's no Mighty Mouse film....

Not terrible, not terrific, this movie lacks power. Singer ruined it by saying that this picks up after 'Superman II'. He should've just done a new one without ties to the Donner films. The cast is too young and off character. Lois with a kid?? Superman lacking a purpose on Earth?? i DID like the special effects but the story just kinda humanized Superman a little too much for me.

I agree with you Charles..the FX were great, but the story wasn't. Lots of plot holes, stupid stuff, Lois was miscast, etc. etc. They need Lex in a giant Robot Exo-Skeleton fighting Supes like in the animated series..now that would be cool!

finally got around to seeing it, and I'm 100% with you on the "lacking power" comment, Charlie...
Superman is too iconic a figure to just have an ordinary movie made of him....hugely dissapointed...
(not on a Luca$ level, just bummed.)
P.S. tell Superman's son that Jonny Deep called-
He wants his 21 Jump St. hairstyle back.....
